Politics Within Media 2.0

This morning, the health care reform bill was passed in house. This has been a controversial topic for decades, as the democratic and republican parties have extremely different views on the subject. With only a short fourteen months since President Obama has been in office, he has made major changes in order to progress the bill so that it can be passed. Many political and medical experts have commented on the matter, with obvious varying views. However, the major consensus is that most Americans are NOT in favor of the bill and think that its long term effects will damage our country. For example, senior political columnist for The Daily Best John P Avlon states, “this is unfortunately not a unifying win for the nation.”

Journalism 2.0 is a catalyst for these major changes in our country by being able to post information directly after it happens. For example, although I am living in a completely different country for the time being, I am able to just quickly log onto CNN.com and read about everything that is happening at Capitol Hill.

A video of Barack Obama speaking to the general population after the bill passed is as follows:

Although I am not an advocate of this plan, I believe that it will help to cover many that are currently uninsured.
